Backend Engineer ($110K–$160K + Equity) at fast-growing consumer AI startup

Role Overview

Backend Engineer for a fast-growing consumer AI startup building systems that power an AI-driven hardware device.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize RESTful APIs and PostgreSQL schemas for high-scale real-time data processing.
• Build and scale AWS infrastructure for transcription and sync pipelines, including:
  • ECS, RDS, Lambda
• Implement real-time features using WebSockets.
• Maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using Docker and GitHub Actions.

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional backend experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Database optimization experience.
• Hands-on expertise with AWS and building scalable, secure cloud-native architectures.
• High-ownership mindset; experience shipping clean, observable code in a fast-paced startup.

• Experience working on real-time transcription or sync/data-processing pipelines.
• Comfort influencing technical strategy in a high-trust, founder-access environment.
