About the role
Role: Backend Engineer
Build and scale the systems behind an AI-driven consumer hardware device.
Responsibilities
- Design and optimize RESTful APIs and PostgreSQL schemas for high-scale real-time data processing
- Manage and scale AWS infrastructure for transcription and sync pipelines (ECS, RDS, Lambda)
- Implement real-time capabilities using WebSockets
- Maintain robust CI/CD using Docker and GitHub Actions
Requirements
- 2+ years of professional backend experience with Node.js and TypeScript
- Experience with database optimization
- Hands-on expertise building scalable, secure cloud-native architectures on AWS
- High-ownership mindset; ability to ship clean, observable code in a fast-paced startup
Nice to Have
- Experience with real-time transcription or similar streaming/transcription pipelines (implied by the role scope)
- Ability to influence technical strategy in a high-trust environment (implied by founder access)
