About the role
Role Overview
Build and scale the backend systems powering a consumer AI hardware device. You will own real-time transcription pipelines, intelligent APIs, and robust cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design and optimize RESTful APIs and PostgreSQL schemas for high-scale real-time data processing.
- Manage and scale AWS infrastructure for transcription and sync pipelines (including ECS, RDS, Lambda).
- Implement real-time capabilities using WebSockets.
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines using Docker and GitHub Actions.
- Ship clean, observable backend code in a fast-paced startup environment.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional backend experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
- Experience with database optimization.
- Hands-on expertise with AWS and scalable, secure cloud-native architectures.
- High-ownership mindset and ability to deliver in a startup environment.
Nice to Haves
- Experience building/operating real-time transcription or similar streaming/real-time pipelines (implied by the role scope).
