About the role
Backend Engineer (Node.js, TypeScript)
Build and scale the backend systems powering a consumer AI hardware device.
Responsibilities
- Design and optimize RESTful APIs and PostgreSQL schemas for high-scale real-time data processing.
- Manage and scale AWS infrastructure for transcription and sync pipelines, including ECS, RDS, and Lambda.
- Implement real-time capabilities using WebSockets.
- Maintain robust CI/CD pipelines with Docker and GitHub Actions.
Requirements
- 2+ years of professional backend experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
- Strong experience with database optimization.
- Hands-on expertise in AWS services and building secure, cloud-native architectures.
- High-ownership mindset; ability to ship clean, observable code in a fast-paced startup environment.
Nice to Haves
- Experience building real-time transcription or streaming data pipelines (implied by role focus).
