About the role
Role Overview
Backend Engineer for a consumer AI hardware startup. You will build and scale the backend systems powering a real-time AI-driven device, with high ownership and direct access to founders.
Responsibilities
- Design and optimize RESTful APIs and PostgreSQL schemas for high-scale, real-time data processing.
- Build and scale cloud infrastructure on AWS for transcription and sync pipelines, including:
- ECS, RDS, Lambda
- Implement real-time features using WebSockets.
- Maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using Docker and GitHub Actions.
Requirements
- 2+ years of professional backend experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
- Experience with database optimization.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services and building secure, cloud-native architectures.
- High-ownership mindset and ability to ship clean, observable code in a fast-paced startup.
Nice to Have
- Experience with high-scale real-time processing and productionizing pipelines in a consumer product environment.
