Role overview

SchooLinks is looking for a highly experienced Backend Django Software Engineer to build clean, maintainable backend services and make scalable architectural decisions. You will work with a cross-functional team and contribute throughout the product development lifecycle.

Key missions

Ship clean, readable, and maintainable backend code using Django.
Participate in product development from start to finish, providing timely feedback on requirements and user stories.
Design and build solutions that scale to millions of users, with sound, scalable architecture.
Proactively raise codebase quality.

Requirements

Deep and highly experienced Django and Django Rest Framework (DRF) experience.
3+ years working with SQL databases in production.
3+ years experience with asynchronous task management.
3+ years experience with AWS.
5+ years of experience with Django and Django Rest Framework (DRF).
Experience building, supporting, and planning production systems.

Nice to have

Celery
React.js
Redis
ETL and data integration with third-party systems (e.g., Student Information Systems)
Domain interest in:
- Educational data
- Predictive analytics for educational outcomes
- Workforce development and career exploration
