Role overview

Backend Developer (Kotlin/Java, Android APIs)

Join DataAnnotation’s coding team to help build and improve AI systems by completing programming tasks and evaluating AI-generated code. Work is flexible and can be combined with other commitments, with paid project opportunities available after a short paid-equivalent assessment.

Responsibilities

Design and solve diverse coding problems used to train AI systems, with emphasis on Android development
Write clear, high-quality code snippets and detailed explanations
Evaluate AI-generated code for accuracy, performance, and clarity
Provide feedback that helps shape the next generation of AI models

Requirements

Fluency in English (native or bilingual)
Strong writing and grammar skills
Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress)
Preferred: experience with Kotlin
Proficiency in at least one additional language/framework from:
- JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, C, C#, C++, React, Go, Java, Swift
Preferred: prior experience as a Software Developer/Coder/Software Engineer/Programmer

Compensation & logistics

Fully remote: available to people in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand
Flexible schedule: choose which projects you take on and when you work
Pay: hourly, up to $60 USD/hour (higher-paying projects may be available with strong performance)
Paid via PayPal

Assessment

After signing up, complete a short assessment (serves as an interview). If successful, you receive confirmation and access to paid work.
