Backend Developer (ID Privacy AI)

Role overview

You’ll build and maintain the server-side logic that powers a privacy-focused advertising product. Your work includes central data/database responsibilities, high-performance request handling, and implementing RESTful APIs that the frontend can use.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain server-side logic with high performance and responsiveness
Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements
Write clean, maintainable, efficient code
Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and indexes
Implement security and data protection measures
Build and deploy RESTful APIs
Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software
Conduct unit testing and optimize performance
Participate in the full application lifecycle (coding and debugging)
Contribute to best practices and client requirements
Stay up to date with emerging technologies and frameworks
Document development processes and coding guidelines
Provide training/support to junior developers (no supervisory responsibilities)

Required qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT or related field
Proven experience as a Backend Developer (or similar)
Proficiency in backend languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, or PHP
Database experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar
Experience with server/network/hosting environments
Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web services
Knowledge of security and data protection practices
Strong understanding of the web development cycle and programming techniques

Nice-to-haves

A basic understanding of frontend technologies is necessary for integration work
