About the role

Role Overview

As a Backend Developer at DataAnnotation, you’ll help advance AI development by designing and solving coding problems used to train AI systems. You’ll work with modern AI models while enjoying fully remote flexibility, including choosing which projects you take and when you work.

Responsibilities

  • Design and solve diverse coding problems used to train AI systems, with an emphasis on Android development
  • Write clear, high-quality code snippets and provide detailed explanations
  • Evaluate AI-generated code for accuracy, performance, and clarity
  • Provide feedback that helps shape the next generation of AI models

Requirements

  • Fluent English (native or bilingual)
  • Excellent writing and grammar skills
  • Bachelor’s degree completed or in progress
  • Preferred: experience as a Software Developer / Software Engineer / Programmer

Preferred / Helpful Skills

  • Kotlin experience (preferred)
  • Proficiency in at least one of: JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, C, C++, C#, React, Go, Java, Swift

Work Style & Logistics

  • Paid hourly via the platform (PayPal)
  • Fully remote with availability in: US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand
  • Flexible schedule: select projects and timing

Compensation

  • Hourly rate starting at $50–$100+/hr (higher rates available with strong performance)
