Backend Developer

Role Overview

Backend Developer contributing to AI development tasks on DataAnnotation’s coding platform. The work is paid hourly and can be done fully remotely with a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Design and solve diverse coding problems used to train AI systems, with an emphasis on Android development
• Write clear, high-quality code snippets and detailed explanations
• Evaluate AI-generated code for accuracy, performance, and clarity
• Provide feedback that helps shape future AI model outputs
• Engage with AI state-of-the-art models to complete programming tasks

Requirements

• Fluency in English (native or bilingual)
• Excellent writing and grammar skills
• Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress)
• Preferred: previous experience as a Software Developer / Software Engineer / Coder / Programmer

Preferred / Nice-to-have

• Preferred experience in Kotlin
• Proficiency in at least one of: JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, C, C#, C++, React, Go, Java, Swift

Logistics & Pay

• Fully remote (work from anywhere in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand)
• Flexible schedule: choose projects and when you work
• Paid hourly, up to $60 USD/hour (higher-paying projects may be available with strong performance)
• Payment via PayPal

Assessment

• After account signup, complete a short assessment (used as an interview). Paid work becomes available after passing.
