Role overview

Backend Developer (AI coding)

Join DataAnnotation’s coding community to contribute to developing and improving AI systems. The work is fully remote with flexible scheduling, and you’ll select projects that fit your availability while performing programming tasks, evaluating AI-generated code, and providing written explanations that help shape future model outputs.

Responsibilities

Design and solve diverse coding problems used to train AI systems, with an emphasis on Android development
Write clear, high-quality code snippets and detailed explanations
Evaluate AI-generated code for accuracy, performance, and clarity
Provide feedback that directly informs the next generation of AI models

Requirements

Fluency in English (native or bilingual)
Strong writing and grammar skills
Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress)

Preferred qualifications

Experience with Kotlin
Proficiency in at least one of: JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, C, C#, C++, React, Go, Java, Swift
Previous experience as a Software Developer / Coder / Software Engineer / Programmer

Logistics & pay

Fully remote (US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand)
Flexible schedule based on projects
Paid hourly via projects, up to $60 USD/hour (higher-paying projects may be available with strong performance)
Payment handled through PayPal (no money requested from candidates)
