About the role
Role Overview
Backend Developer on DataAnnotation’s coding team, contributing to the development of AI systems through programming tasks, code generation/evaluation, and feedback that improves model quality. Work is flexible and may be done alongside or instead of a full-time role.
Responsibilities
- Design and solve diverse coding problems used to train AI systems, with an emphasis on Android development
- Write clear, high-quality code snippets and detailed explanations
- Evaluate AI-generated code for accuracy, performance, and clarity
- Provide feedback that helps shape the next generation of AI models
Qualifications
- Fluency in English (native or bilingual)
- Strong writing and grammar skills
- Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress)
- Preferred: prior experience as a Software Developer/Coder/Software Engineer/Programmer
Preferred / Technical Requirements
- Preferred: Kotlin experience
- Proficiency in at least one of: JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, C, C#, C++, React, Go, Java, Swift
Remote & Availability
- Fully remote with eligibility based on country
- Flexible schedule: choose projects and timing
- Assessment required after signup; paid work is released upon passing
Compensation
- Paid hourly up to $60 USD/hour (higher-paying projects may be available with strong performance)
