Backend Developer

Role Overview

Proxify is seeking a Senior Backend Developer specializing in Node.js and Nest.js for a long-term, full-time remote position. You’ll design, develop, and maintain modern, scalable, and secure backend systems while collaborating with frontend developers, designers, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust, scalable, and secure backend applications using Node.js and Nest.js
• Implement RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints
• Build and evolve microservices architectures
• Integrate backend services with databases and external APIs
• Optimize performance, scalability, and maintainability
• Maintain high standards for code quality, security, and compliance
• Collaborate cross-functionally, participate in code reviews, and improve development processes
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional backend experience with Node.js
• 3+ years specifically with Nest.js
• Strong API design experience (including REST and GraphQL)
• Solid knowledge of databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB
• Experience with authentication/authorization: JWT and OAuth2
• Unit/integration testing: Jest or Mocha
• Proficient with Git and version control workflows
• Must be located in CET timezone (+/- 3 hours)

Preferred Qualifications

• Cloud experience: AWS, Azure, GCP
• CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Event-driven architecture, message brokers (RabbitMQ, Kafka)
• Docker / containerization
• Microservices and serverless architectures
