Role Overview

Backend Engineer (Hourly Contract)

• Remote
• 5–20 hours/week
• Up to $65/hour

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, review, and debug backend code such as:
  • APIs
  • Server logic
  • Databases
• Review and assess technical content generated by advanced AI models, focusing on:
  • Correctness
  • Efficiency
  • Scalability
  • Adherence to industry best practices
• Work on backend system design, architecture, and algorithmic problems to improve model capabilities
• Provide clear, structured written feedback to improve model logic and engineering judgment
• Work independently and asynchronously while following detailed technical guidelines

Requirements

• Strong professional software engineering experience
• Hands-on backend coding experience in one or more of:
  • Python, Java, Go, or Node.js
• Strong understanding of:
  • Databases
  • APIs
  • Data structures and algorithms
  • Scalable system design
• Proven experience writing/reviewing/debugging production-level code
• Strong written communication skills and high attention to detail
