Role Overview

Senior Back End Web Developer (Cybersecurity)

As a senior back end engineer on Trinity Cyber’s web development team, you will help define new products and build the services that power the customer-facing portal. You’ll integrate with the core engine and networking systems, build scalable services for high-volume data processing, and collaborate with frontend engineers to deliver reliable, high-performance applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop scalable backend services for new portal capabilities, integrating with internal systems
• Process large volumes of operational data efficiently and reliably
• Architect for performance with clean, maintainable, high-performance code
• Participate in rigorous code reviews
• Translate complex requirements into clear, predictable designs (design reviews and change planning)

Core Requirements

• Significant experience building backend APIs for web client applications
• Strong server-side expertise, preferably Python with Flask
• Experience designing, implementing, and integrating Web APIs (e.g., GraphQL / REST)
• Understanding of asynchronous programming methodologies
• Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Redis)
• Familiarity with modern web technologies (HTML5, JavaScript/TypeScript)
• Experience with SPA frameworks (Angular, React, Vue)
• Comfortable developing in a Linux environment
• Strong foundation in computer security principles
• Interest in continuous learning and solving complex problems
• Experience with TDD and testing frameworks
• Experience integrating with external APIs and third-party libraries
• Proven ability to learn quickly and operate with minimal direction
• Optional/Plus: Experience with CI/CD
• Preferred education: Bachelor’s in Computer Science/Technology/Engineering/Math
