Back End Developer

Role Overview

Back-End Developer for a growing US-based company. This is a full-time remote position focused on designing, building, and maintaining high-performance server-side systems for web and mobile applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance back-end services and systems.
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices to support front-end and mobile functionality.
• Implement scalable architecture and optimize server-side performance.
• Manage and secure data in databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Collaborate with product managers, DevOps, and engineering teams to deliver backend services and ensure smooth integration.
• Apply security best practices for data protection, authentication, and authorization.
• Troubleshoot and resolve back-end issues to keep systems running smoothly.
• Stay current with emerging back-end technologies and best practices.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of professional back-end development experience.
• Expertise in one or more back-end languages/frameworks: Node.js, Python, Ruby on Rails, Java, or similar.
• Strong proficiency with databases and database management practices (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Experience building and scaling RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Experience deploying and managing systems on AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of security practices: encryption, authentication, authorization, and data protection.
• Solid understanding of server-side logic, data structures/algorithms, and performance optimization.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
• Ability to work in a remote, cross-functional distributed team and communicate clearly.

Compensation

• $2,000–$6,000 per month (paid in USD), depending on experience.
• Independent contractor agreement, paid 2x monthly.
• Long-term commitment desired by the client.
