Back End Developer (Python, Go)

Role Overview

Senior Backend Engineer (Contractor) joining a Client Content Platform team. Focus: migrating legacy backend services from a Python monolith to modern Go (Golang) services owned by multiple Product teams. Work mode: 100% remote. Duration: 6-month contract.

Responsibilities

• Migrate and refactor existing Python logic into Golang services owned by other teams.
• Learn and adapt quickly to the Content Platform team’s internal tools, systems, and processes to accelerate the migration.
• Collaborate cross-team to ensure smooth and timely delivery.
• Debug complex issues rapidly and communicate clear, actionable fixes.
• Maintain high-quality, well-tested code with thorough validation.
• Improve migration tooling by identifying gaps and implementing enhancements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong expertise in Go (Golang) and Python.
• Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Fast learner able to pick up new tools and systems quickly.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills for distributed/remote teams.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working in a fast-paced environment (implied by “ideally” in requirements).
