Role

Back End / Backend-Leaning Full Stack Engineer (100% Remote) Build foundational platform services for a healthcare SaaS product suite, modernizing the core system toward a scalable, cost-efficient, open-source architecture.

Responsibilities

Design and build core platform services shared across multiple products
Modernize the stack toward Node.js/TypeScript, Golang, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and supporting open-source tooling
Establish architectural patterns that improve consistency, reliability, and testability
Collaborate with distributed product and engineering teams
Provide code reviews and technical guidance
Support occasional production/client-impacting issues and develop deep system knowledge

Requirements

Strong computer science and software engineering fundamentals
Experience building backend or platform systems at scale
Hands-on Node.js (TypeScript) and/or Golang
Working/read/debug knowledge of React (not UI-heavy)
PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB experience plus database performance concepts
Familiarity with modern API patterns (e.g., REST, async/event-driven systems)
Ability to understand and work alongside existing .NET-based systems (not primary focus)

Infrastructure & Engineering Practices

Experience with containerized systems (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Familiarity with messaging systems (e.g., RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, or equivalents)
Comfortable with Git and modern CI/CD workflows
Experience working in Agile/iterative development environments

Nice to Have

Experience in healthcare, diagnostics, or regulated systems
Interest in platform design, cost optimization, or developer productivity
B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field
