About the role
Role Overview
Senior Backend Engineer (Contract) joining the Client’s Content Platform team. You will help migrate legacy Python services from Python monoliths to modern Golang services owned by multiple product teams.
Location: Remote (USA)
Responsibilities
- Migrate and refactor existing Python logic into Golang services owned by other teams.
- Rapidly learn and adapt to Content Platform’s internal tools, systems, and processes to accelerate the migration.
- Collaborate with engineers across teams to ensure smooth delivery.
- Debug complex issues quickly and provide clear, actionable solutions.
- Maintain high-quality, well-tested code with thorough validation.
- Identify and implement improvements in migration tooling.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend development experience (preferably in fast-paced environments).
- Strong expertise in Golang and Python.
- Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Quick learner able to pick up new tools and systems.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for distributed teams.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience migrating monoliths to services and improving migration tooling.
