Azure DevOps Engineer

Role Overview

Azure DevOps Engineer (Remote – U.S.) joining a fully remote team to build scalable, automated, cloud-native systems for internal platforms and mission-critical manufacturing technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Azure-based cloud infrastructure for distributed manufacturing/engineering systems.
• Build and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform (preferred), ARM/Bicep, or equivalent tooling.
• Architect and automate CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
• Develop environment automation using PowerShell, Bash, and/or Python.
• Support database migrations, modernization efforts, and automated environment provisioning.
• Build and optimize workloads using Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or EKS.
• Implement container lifecycle automation, monitoring, and security best practices.
• Support Java/JVM application environments (e.g., Tomcat), including deployment and performance tuning.
• Partner cross-functionally with engineering, product, infrastructure, and security teams to improve reliability, scalability, and automation.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Azure services.
• Expertise in IaC (Terraform preferred).
• Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, and/or Python.
• Experience with GitHub or Azure DevOps for CI/CD.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes or EKS.
• Experience deploying/supporting Java/Tomcat applications.
• Background in DevOps/cloud/systems engineering.
• Experience with database migrations, deployment automation, or systems modernization.

Nice-to-Haves

• Modernization and automation experience specifically tied to complex, mission-critical environments.
