About the role

Role Overview

Join Sonatype as an Azure DevOps Engineer to design, automate, and scale the engineering platform and delivery systems on Azure. You’ll modernize infrastructure and CI/CD, improve reliability and security, and mentor teams on platform engineering and DevOps best practices.

Key Missions / Responsibilities

Design & evolve Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
Build and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps Pipelines for application, infrastructure, and platform workloads.
Partner with engineering teams to improve build, release, and deployment workflows across microservices and cloud-native applications.

Requirements

Strong understanding of cloud security, including IAM, secrets management, compliance controls, and secure software delivery.
Experience with observability: logging, alerting, and operational dashboards for production systems.
Deep hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure (compute, networking, identity, storage, monitoring, and security services).
Solid understanding of source control workflows, package management, artifact promotion, and release strategies.
Strong experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipeline design for multiple application stacks and deployment patterns.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep, ARM, or similar automation frameworks.
Scripting/automation experience with Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar.
Proficiency with containers and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), preferably AKS.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills, able to influence technical direction across teams.

Nice to Have

Exposure to policy-as-code, platform engineering, developer portals, or internal developer platform concepts.
Familiarity with multi-cloud environments and migrations from AWS or on-premises.
Experience with GitHub, SonarQube, Nexus Repository, or software supply chain security tooling.
Experience supporting regulated or enterprise-scale environments with strong governance requirements.
