Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Role Overview

The Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will deploy, configure, manage, and monitor Azure cloud infrastructure to ensure performance, stability, and security. The position focuses on operational excellence, including day-to-day maintenance, incident response, and automation.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and manage Azure infrastructure including compute resources, virtual networks, storage solutions, and application services
• Monitor and optimize performance by tracking availability and performance metrics and proactively resolving issues
• Implement security and compliance controls using policies, best practices, and required compliance measures
• Automate cloud operations with scripts and automation tools using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents with an emphasis on service restoration and cross-team collaboration (development/IT)
• Manage patching and release operations, including scheduling and applying updates per organizational guidelines
• Optimize cloud costs by analyzing resource usage and implementing cost-saving strategies
• Maintain backup and disaster recovery plans for data and application availability
• Collaborate with development teams on application deployment and evaluate/recommend new services and architectural improvements
• Create and maintain technical documentation for infrastructure, configurations, processes, and runbooks

Requirements

• Expertise deploying, configuring, managing, and monitoring Azure cloud infrastructure
• Operational focus on maintenance, incident response, and uptime
• Ability to automate cloud operations using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python
• Strong security/compliance mindset for protecting cloud resources and sensitive data

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with backup/disaster recovery planning and cloud cost optimization
• Familiarity with release/patch management and coordination with development teams
