AWS Solutions Architect

Role Overview

AWS Solutions Architect responsible for designing and operating secure, scalable, and highly available enterprise AWS cloud environments. The role combines hands-on engineering with strategic architecture leadership across application, security, and reliability teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and manage enterprise AWS platforms across compute, networking, storage, identity, and managed services
• Ensure security, reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency through continuous improvement
• Develop infrastructure-as-code with Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK (with strong version control and automated validation)
• Build and govern AWS multi-account environments (landing zones, centralized logging, shared services, governance)
• Design secure networking (e.g., VPC, subnetting/routing, Transit Gateway, VPN, Direct Connect)
• Implement enterprise IAM strategies (roles, permission boundaries, AWS SSO, security policies, least privilege)
• Design and operate container platforms using Amazon EKS and ECS (scaling, monitoring, security)
• Manage data/analytics services: RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, S3, Redshift, Glue, Kinesis
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., CodePipeline, CodeBuild, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
• Implement observability (e.g., CloudWatch, X-Ray, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana)
• Drive cost optimization (right-sizing, lifecycle management, savings strategies)
• Deliver disaster recovery and business continuity (backups, replication, failover testing, documentation)
• Improve security posture using Security Hub, GuardDuty, Macie, Inspector, Config, CloudTrail
• Provide architecture guidance to development teams (best practices, design patterns, service selection)
• Build automation tools/scripts using Python, Bash, or Go
• Lead technical reviews, mentor engineers, and contribute to cloud engineering best practices

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline
• 5+ years of cloud engineering experience, including 3+ years in AWS production environments
• Strong hands-on AWS experience with EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, Lambda

Nice to Have

• Experience with Kubernetes/containers (EKS/ECS), observability stacks (CloudWatch/OpenTelemetry/Prometheus/Grafana), and security tooling (Security Hub/GuardDuty/Macie/Inspector/Config/CloudTrail)
• Strong DevOps automation background (CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, operational excellence)
