AWS Solutions Architect

Role Overview

ArcheSys is seeking a motivated AWS Solutions Architect to lead the conceptualization, design, and implementation of modern cloud and software architectures for government customers. This role is fully remote and hands-on across the full project lifecycle, from workshops and requirements gathering through deployment and post-deployment reviews.

Responsibilities

• Solution Development
  • Create comprehensive solution architectures aligned to business objectives and technical advancement.
  • Collaborate with project teams to build customized solutions for business challenges.
  • Set up and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS.
  • Develop and deploy Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Stakeholder Engagement
  • Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure alignment.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather requirements, feedback, and priorities.
• Technology Evaluation & Integration
  • Assess existing systems and recommend enhancements and integrations.
  • Evaluate potential technology partners and vendors to support delivery.
• Documentation & Knowledge Transfer
  • Produce architectural diagrams, technical specifications, and detailed documentation.
  • Lead knowledge transfer via training and workshops to support adoption.
• Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure solutions comply with security, data privacy, and organizational policies.
  • Work with legal/compliance teams to meet regulatory requirements.
• Performance Monitoring & Optimization
  • Monitor deployed solutions, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance post-implementation.
• Innovation & Continuous Improvement
  • Stay current on emerging technologies and promote architecture best practices.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s or certifications preferred).
• Cloud Certification: At least one cloud platform certification, specifically AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate).
• Clearance: Public Trust Clearance (or ability to obtain).
• US Authorization: Must have lived in the U.S. for at least 3 of the past 5 years and be authorized to work in the U.S. (Citizen, Permanent Resident, or EAD). No sponsorship offered.

Nice-to-haves / Additional Certifications

• Additional certifications in DevOps/SRE practices (examples mentioned include Docker and Kubernetes).
