Role overview

ArcheSys Inc is seeking a motivated AWS Solutions Architect to lead the conceptualization, design, and implementation of modern cloud and software architectures for government customers. You will work hands-on across the full project lifecycle—aligning solutions to business goals, integrating with existing systems, and supporting deployment and post-deployment reviews.

Responsibilities

• Solution architecture & modernization: Develop comprehensive solution architectures aligned to business objectives and technological advancements.
• Cloud infrastructure: Set up and maintain AWS-based cloud infrastructure.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and deploy IaC using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Stakeholder engagement: Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams; facilitate workshops and requirements-gathering sessions.
• Systems integration & technology evaluation: Assess current systems, propose enhancements/integrations, and evaluate potential partners/vendors.
• Documentation & knowledge transfer: Create architectural diagrams and technical specifications; run training/workshops to ensure adoption.
• Compliance & governance: Ensure adherence to data privacy and security guidelines and collaborate with legal/compliance teams.
• Monitoring & optimization: Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues post-implementation, and optimize results.
• Continuous improvement: Stay current on emerging technologies and promote architecture best practices.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s degree or professional certifications preferred).
• AWS certification: At least one cloud-platform certification such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate.
• Clearance: Public Trust Clearance (or ability to obtain).

Nice-to-haves / preferred

• Additional certifications related to DevOps/SRE (the posting references examples such as Docker and Kubernetes).
