About the role

Role Overview

Senior AWS DevOps Engineer focused on AWS cloud infrastructure, automation, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and disaster recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Recommend AWS cloud architecture best practices and effective use of AWS resources.
  • Lead management of AWS resource deployment and ongoing operations.
  • Own Continuous Integration and release deployment processes using tools such as Bitbucket, GitLab, or GitHub, alongside Terraform scripts.
  • Manage Kubernetes clusters and related tooling.
  • Establish and maintain AWS disaster recovery architecture aligned to business continuity targets (RPO/RTO).
  • Participate in IT/AWS/Azure strategic planning, project planning, and budget planning.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with AWS vendors and service suppliers.
  • Maintain and update AWS assets to ensure systems are secure and up to date.
  • Configure, administer, and optimize enterprise IT monitoring tools for proactive detection, alerting, and issue resolution.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AWS-related solutions successfully.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of AWS and Azure infrastructure/cloud management experience.
  • 5+ years managing AWS and Azure resources.
  • 5+ years in CI/CD pipelines and Terraform.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Scripting experience (Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc.).
  • Prior senior-level experience in an IT organization.
  • Deep knowledge of AWS operations/center operations, network engineering, enterprise applications, security, and production support.
  • Ability to think holistically across infrastructure/services, identity management, security, enterprise storage, big data, and end-user experience.
  • Proficiency in AWS cloud-native services.
  • Strong strategic planning and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and ability to translate complex technical topics for diverse audiences.

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience in the Life Sciences industry.
