Automation Test Engineer

Role Overview

Automation Test Engineer for a fast-paced federal environment, supporting mission-driven testing and automation efforts. The position is remote (USA).

Responsibilities

• Develop functional testing scenarios and detailed functional test cases.
• Translate functional and technical requirements into automated test solutions.
• Design and implement maintainable automation code to support testing objectives.
• Build and maintain test plans, test case data, procedures, and testing scripts from specifications.
• Execute and coordinate tests; log, validate, debug, and document defects.
• Collaborate with test leads/managers to define and refine functional testing approaches, tools, automation, and documentation.
• Coordinate with federal and contractor functional leads to clarify requirements/scenarios, including supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Respond to developers regarding test results, bugs, and defects; communicate with customers and teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of IT industry experience (Required).
• Claim processing or healthcare industry knowledge (Required).
• Test automation (2+ years required) using Selenium, including framework development, maintenance, optimization, strategizing, and planning.
• Strong skills in automation feasibility analysis and improving/reviewing existing automation frameworks.
• Experience with Agile and DevOps methodology.
• Ability to read/understand functional & technical architecture documents and analyze test requirements.
• Experience testing Java, .NET, Web, SOA, ETL applications.
• Strong Java development experience (demonstrated via prior work/projects).
• Test case development using Selenium (Must have) and/or IBM Rational Functional Tester / Quality Center.
• SQL and Oracle and MS-Access.
• Intermediate knowledge of Unix and Windows.
• Strong written/verbal communication and reporting/analytical skills.
• Bachelor’s degree (or 8 additional years of relevant experience can substitute).

Clearance / Location

• Ability to pass a Moderate Background Investigation (MBI).
• Remote, USA.

Compensation

• $83,650 – $92,250 (salary range).
