About the role

Role Overview

Automation Framework Engineer (SDET) responsible for designing, building, and continuously improving test automation frameworks. You will write production-quality automated test code and partner with development teams to embed quality engineering throughout the SDLC.

Responsibilities

Design and build robust, scalable test automation frameworks for web, API, mobile, and microservice testing
Write production-quality automated test code in Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#
Implement contract testing (e.g., Pact) for service contracts in microservice ecosystems
Build and maintain CI/CD test pipelines integrated with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
Develop performance test suites using tools such as JMeter, Gatling, k6, or Locust, including realistic load models and analysis
Apply security testing fundamentals (dependency scanning, SAST, DAST, and OWASP-based checks)
Lead test strategy discussions (risk-based testing, exploratory testing, and shift-left practices)
Identify quality risks early with product/design/engineering/operations stakeholders
Perform root-cause analysis for production incidents and translate findings into automated regression tests
Drive continuous improvement in test coverage, reliability, and time-to-feedback
Mentor junior QA engineers and maintain rigorous engineering standards
Maintain test documentation, traceability, and reporting dashboards

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related technical field
5+ years experience as an SDET or in test-focused software engineering roles
Strong programming skills in Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#
Hands-on experience with at least one UI automation framework: Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright
Solid experience automating REST and/or gRPC APIs
Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for test automation

Nice to Have

Experience with additional testing domains such as performance and security testing
Experience with microservices contract testing (e.g., Pact) and building reusable internal testing tools/libraries
