About the role
Role overview
Join Galaxy as an Associate Security Engineer (full remote). You will administer application security tooling and help drive the vulnerability management program, working closely with engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure teams and reporting to the Director of Product Security.
Key missions
- Administer and configure application security tooling to reduce false positives and improve accuracy.
- Develop dashboards and KPIs to visualize security activities, vulnerabilities, and cybersecurity risks by department/team.
- Support vulnerability management by helping teams meet SLAs for vulnerability triage and remediation.
- Assist with security assessments and collaborate on security improvements.
Profile / Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in cybersecurity, software development, or security operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with application security and vulnerability management practices.
- Scripting or object-oriented programming proficiency.
- Bachelor’s or post-graduate diploma in cybersecurity or technology.
- Security or cloud certifications.
- Strong analytical, detail-oriented, proactive problem-solving skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience supporting security assessments and collaborating with engineering/DevOps on remediation workflows.
