About the role
Role overview
As an Associate Product Manager on Sage’s US College Product Management team within Digital Learning Solutions, you’ll help deliver new digital solutions for the US College market. You’ll use a customer-first, data-informed approach to support discovery, planning, delivery, and iteration of product features.
Responsibilities
- Support product development
- Capture data, conduct research, and coordinate with cross-functional partners to support business decisions.
- Assist in leading project timelines and deliverables to keep initiatives on track.
- Collaborate on roadmap planning and backlog prioritization with Product Managers, Engineers, and QA Analysts.
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate completed functionality.
- Evaluate new product ideas
- Help with early assessment via market research, requirements gathering, and business use case development.
- Support recommendations on product direction based on risk, customer value, and investment level.
- Engage with market research
- Coordinate with Marketing, Sales, Acquisitions, and Content Development to stay aligned on customer needs and market trends.
- Contribute through usability testing and competitive research.
- Capture competitor activity and emerging trends to inform product improvements.
- Support technical requirements
- Define technical requirements, including acceptance criteria.
- Translate customer and business needs into actionable user stories.
- Support feature development with software engineers, QA analysts, and UX research.
- Collaborate on content development
- Work with editorial teams to define and refine content requirements for digital products.
- Help streamline workflows and promote digital-first processes.
- Guide project management
- Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, document decisions, and track action items.
- Maintain project plans and documentation (requirements, user stories, prototypes).
- Participate in implementation & onboarding
- Support workflow/process refinement, internal training, customer onboarding, and LMS integration.
- Document and standardize procedures based on user feedback and data insights.
- Reporting & communication
- Help deliver product updates, presentations, and reports.
- Compile usage data, competitive insights, and feature improvement findings.
Skills & experience
- Required (or any combination equivalent):
- Scrum Master and/or Scrum Product Owner certification
- Project management experience
- Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Experience with Jira and Confluence
- Strong problem solving and time management
