Associate Product Manager

Role Overview

As an Associate Product Manager at Financial Cents, you’ll own small product projects end-to-end, from discovery and PRDs through engineering support and launch. The role reports to the Product Manager and works closely with Design, QA, and Developers.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end projects from discovery through launch.
  • Examples: Project Template Categories, Bulk Actions on Tasks, Workflow Automations (e.g., editing emails and creating project details).
• Run discovery and shape the roadmap using evidence-backed recommendations.
• Conduct user interviews, synthesize insights, and present findings in roadmap discussions with stakeholders (PM, CTO, CEO).
• Write PRDs and story tickets that clearly specify what engineering needs, starting with internal Claude-assisted drafting.
• Own launch communications, including:
  • Weekly internal release notes
  • Public changelog posts (Canny)
  • Internal tutorials/training for new features
• Maintain a healthy backlog by creating small, clear, unambiguous issues.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of product management or Product Owner experience at a SaaS company.
• Strong discovery mindset: asks “why” before “what”; distinguishes user requests from underlying problems.
• Strong usability instincts; flags unnecessary complexity and advocates for simple, understandable solutions.
• Exceptional written communication (tickets, PRDs, and feature copy), including the ability to rewrite weak AI drafts.
