Associate Full Stack Product Engineer

Role Overview

Associate Full Stack Product Engineer (frontend focus) at Called. You’ll build user-facing product experiences and also contribute to backend APIs, services, and data models.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain frontend features using React, React Query, CSS Modules, and modern frontend best practices
• Create responsive, accessible, user-friendly interfaces
• Integrate with backend APIs to fetch, update, and manage application data
• Help QA new and existing features by testing user workflows, documenting issues, and verifying fixes before release
• Contribute to backend services and APIs using Python and Django (and related tooling)
• Debug and troubleshoot issues across frontend and backend
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and team knowledge-sharing
• Grow toward feature ownership from planning through implementation and release

Requirements

• 1–3 years of professional (or internship/freelance/startup/portfolio) software development experience
• Experience building web applications with React
• Familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and responsive design
• Understanding of APIs and how frontend communicates with backend systems
• Basic backend experience, ideally with Python, Django, and REST APIs
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative development
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and willingness to learn and iterate

• Experience using AI-assisted development tools/agentic workflows for coding, debugging, documentation, automation, or productivity
