Role Overview
Associate Full Stack Product Engineer (frontend focus) at Called. You’ll build user-facing product experiences and also contribute to backend APIs, services, and data models.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain frontend features using React, React Query, CSS Modules, and modern frontend best practices
- Create responsive, accessible, user-friendly interfaces
- Integrate with backend APIs to fetch, update, and manage application data
- Help QA new and existing features by testing user workflows, documenting issues, and verifying fixes before release
- Contribute to backend services and APIs using Python and Django (and related tooling)
- Debug and troubleshoot issues across frontend and backend
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and team knowledge-sharing
- Grow toward feature ownership from planning through implementation and release
Requirements
- 1–3 years of professional (or internship/freelance/startup/portfolio) software development experience
- Experience building web applications with React
- Familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and responsive design
- Understanding of APIs and how frontend communicates with backend systems
- Basic backend experience, ideally with Python, Django, and REST APIs
- Proficiency with Git and collaborative development
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and willingness to learn and iterate
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools/agentic workflows for coding, debugging, documentation, automation, or productivity
