Associate Data Scientist

Role overview

Join Amplify as an Associate Data Scientist to analyze large-scale educational data and use findings to shape product design and improve customer experience. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, build statistical and AI-driven solutions, and communicate results to stakeholders.

Key missions

• Analyze large-scale educational data to extract actionable insights for product design and customer experience.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex questions using both:
  • traditional analytical methods
  • AI/AI-driven workflows
• Develop, evaluate, and maintain statistical models and AI-powered analytical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Perform data analysis tasks including cleaning, manipulation, and statistical evaluation.
• Research, troubleshoot, and solve open-ended analytical problems independently.
• Communicate insights clearly, including with non-technical partners.
• Train and evaluate machine learning models using standard libraries.
• Build or fine-tune applications using Generative AI / LLMs.

Requirements

• Python proficiency for data analysis (data cleaning, manipulation, analysis).
• SQL experience for data analysis.
• Solid foundations in statistics (e.g., regression, hypothesis testing).
• Experience working with version control and testing in a software development workflow.
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Data Science, AI Engineering, CS, Economics, Math, Physics, Statistics) or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent communication skills (writing and conversation).

Nice-to-haves

• Experience applying AI solutions across varied problem domains.
• Experience training/evaluating ML models using scikit-learn and XGBoost.
• Familiarity with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Hugging Face.
• Experience working with Snowflake.
• Background in education / EdTech.
• Experience with Generative AI / Large Language Models (build/fine-tune).
