About the role
Role Overview
The Art Director, Waterparks & FECs will lead the visual direction and execution of brand and campaign creative across the Waterparks and Family Entertainment Center (FEC) portfolio (including Castle Park). This is a senior, hands-on role responsible for shaping and evolving brand identity, creating high-impact campaign creative, and maintaining consistency across all channels.
Responsibilities
Creative Direction & Brand Development
- Lead the development and evolution of brand identity across Waterparks, FECs, and Castle Park
- Concept and execute hero creative for campaigns, seasonal initiatives, and key business moments
- Translate marketing and business objectives into compelling visual storytelling
- Ensure consistency and quality across all creative through a cohesive brand system
Campaign & Asset Development
- Develop campaign creative for digital, social, email, web, OOH, and in-park materials
- Oversee creation of in-park collateral (signage, menus, wayfinding, event materials) and ensure brand alignment
- Partner with marketing to deliver seasonal, promotional, and always-on campaigns
Template & System Creation
- Build and maintain scalable design templates and toolkits for digital and print assets
- Create design guidelines that enable efficient execution by designers and external partners
- Balance brand consistency with flexibility across multiple parks and markets
Team Leadership & Workflow Management
- Manage and mentor one direct report (Designer)
- Own incoming creative requests: prioritize, assign, and ensure timely completion
- Decide when to personally lead versus delegate based on complexity and priority
- Track active projects and proactively manage timelines and deliverables
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Production Oversight
- Partner with internal creative, Waterpark/FEC marketing teams, and other stakeholders
- Collaborate with media, operations, and external partners to align creative with channel strategy
- Oversee production across digital, print, and OOH channels
- Ensure deliverables meet technical and production standards
- Work with vendors/partners (print, fabrication, media) to execute in-market
Requirements
- Strong portfolio showing brand development, campaign creative, and multi-channel execution
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and modern design tools
- Strong understanding of typography, layout, color, and visual systems
- Experience creating scalable design systems and templates
- Ability to think strategically while executing at a high level
- Strong organization and project management skills; can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive, solution-oriented ownership mindset
- Strong communication skills to present and defend creative decisions
Preferred / Additional Signals
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or Visual Arts (degree requirement is listed but the posting cuts off after the field)
