About the role
Role overview
BIOptimizers is seeking an Art Director / Creative Director to define and elevate the brand’s visual presence across all customer touchpoints. This is a hands-on leadership role reporting to the CMO, owning creative direction and execution across campaigns, product storytelling, and real-world brand experiences.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the design team: manage, mentor, and grow designers to build a collaborative, high-output creative culture while staying actively involved in execution.
- Own creative concepts for campaigns, product launches, content shoots, and brand activations across DTC, Amazon, and retail.
- Drive retail creative execution, including:
- on-shelf displays, endcap displays
- in-store merchandising and point-of-sale materials
- retail display programs
- Oversee Amazon creative assets, including:
- A+ content
- brand storefronts
- product detail page visuals optimized for conversion and brand consistency
- Translate science-backed messaging into clear, compelling visual storytelling across formats.
- Direct photo and video shoots to ensure the creative vision becomes high-quality, high-performing assets.
- Maintain and evolve brand guidelines to ensure consistency across digital and physical outputs.
- Partner cross-functionally with Brand, Social, and Influencer teams on business and campaign goals.
- Collaborate with external partners (agencies, freelancers, production partners) to scale creative output.
Required qualifications
- 7–10+ years of experience in art direction or visual design for consumer, wellness, performance, or lifestyle brands.
- 3+ years in an Art Director or senior creative leadership role.
- Proven experience leading and managing a design team, with ability to direct at a high level and still contribute hands-on.
- Bachelor’s degree in Art, Graphic Design, Marketing, or related field.
- Strong portfolio with concept-driven campaigns and multi-channel execution (digital and physical/retail).
- Deep retail creative experience (on-shelf displays, endcap displays, point-of-purchase materials, merchandising systems).
- Strong DTC and Amazon creative experience, including Amazon A+ content and performance-oriented digital assets.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Figma.
- Experience making technical/science-based concepts accessible through design.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills (details cut off in source text).

- Ability to travel for events and shoots, primarily in the Southwest U.S.
