Architectural Project Associate (Commercial Architecture)

Location: Remote (Chicago, IL listed)

Role Overview

Join a nationwide commercial architecture firm as an Architectural Project Associate supporting retail design projects. You’ll help prepare construction and permitting deliverables, coordinate revisions, and assist with presentations and consultant coordination.

Responsibilities

Produce full sets of CDs (construction documents)
Support permitting workflows and RFIs
Conduct upfront and during-construction site visits and verification
Handle punch-lists
Coordinate with the city and address permit-related requirements
Assist the Project Manager with construction drawings for bid, permit, and client review
Coordinate revisions and work with external consultants (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing) and client vendors
Perform code and permitting research
Attend site surveys and prepare survey drawings and reports
Prepare responses to comments from outside drawing reviews
Create design development presentation drawings

Requirements

Professional commercial experience, specifically with retail design
Architecture degree (professional degree in Architecture)
Proficient with AutoCAD; Revit experience preferred
Basic experience with rendering software
Strong oral and written communication and customer service skills
