About the role

Role Overview

Architectural Design Manager (Senior Manager – Architectural Design) for the Design & Construction department, supporting architectural design initiatives for branded hotel properties. The position is remote, with a preference for candidates in the Dallas, TX area, and a 4-month duration.

Responsibilities

  • Review architectural plans, specifications, and design submittals for renovations, conversions, and new construction.
  • Conduct Property Improvement Plan (PIP) site visits for new and existing hotel properties.
  • Develop and document PIPs aligned with brand standards and operational requirements.
  • Lead and oversee junior staff, external consultants, temporary workers, and interns.
  • Create and improve internal design processes, documentation, and workflow efficiencies.
  • Solve complex design and construction challenges and make time-sensitive decisions.
  • Develop conceptual renovation and architectural design solutions for hospitality properties.
  • Support franchisees and external consultants by interpreting and communicating design guidelines/brand standards.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects across different development and construction stages.
  • Apply brand-specific architectural standards across multiple hotel brands and property types.
  • Produce renderings, sketches, diagrams, and presentations using tools such as Bluebeam, Photoshop, SketchUp, and Revit.
  • Maintain prototype plans and specification manuals.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with internal teams to align development and brand objectives.
  • Perform construction-phase site inspections to ensure compliance with approved plans, fixture placement, and prototype standards.
  • Travel extensively to project sites as required (up to 50%).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (required).
  • 8–10 years of commercial architecture experience (required).
  • Hospitality project experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior team members and consultants.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Architectural licensure (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Additional experience with multifamily and retail developments.
