About the role
Role Overview
Senior Architect (Front End) who owns front-end architectural problems end-to-end and shapes how the engineering org builds—from system design and component contracts through implementation, reliability, and reusable patterns.
What You’ll Do
- Own front-end architecture across the engineering org for:
- Web and mobile platform
- Design system and shared component libraries
- State & data-fetching patterns
- BFF and edge layers connecting to backend services
- Stay hands-on by:
- Leading prototyping of patterns adopted by engineers
- Writing code in the hardest parts of the front-end platform
- Running front-end architecture reviews across squads
- Set and standardize architecture across the org:
- Component APIs
- Accessibility, performance, observability
- Consistency patterns across products
- Lead cross-cutting decisions and mentor mid-level engineers and team leads; grow the front-end architecture practice.
- Drive AI adoption in front-end work using agentic coding tools (e.g., Copilot/Cursor/Claude Code) across design, code, testing, and documentation.
What We’re Looking For
Must-have
- 7 to 10+ years building production software end-to-end, with at least 3 years in architecture-leaning work (front-end platform, system design, or technical leadership)
- Proven track record setting front-end architecture across multiple teams; leading architecture reviews and mentoring
- Strong front-end engineering with TypeScript and Vue, React, or equivalent (hands-on coding required)
- Solid CS fundamentals: OOP, DDD, data structures, pragmatic system design
- Deep front-end architecture knowledge: component systems, state management, data fetching, and BFF/edge patterns
- Strong understanding of web performance and accessibility, and how front-ends consume APIs
- Production experience with AWS, including CI/CD (e.g., GitHub Actions)
- Payments/FX or other regulated-industry experience
- Daily use of agentic coding tools across the SDLC and a clear view on AI’s role in front-end architecture
- Excellent communication: explain tradeoffs to engineering, product, and business audiences
Nice-to-have
- Experience owning a design system/shared component libraries at scale
- Familiarity with Xe’s backend stack (C#/.NET) and front-end integration
