Architect

Role Overview

Join Filevine as a Lead Architect to design and oversee the development of high-scale, mission-critical production systems. You’ll partner across technical and non-technical teams, translate business needs into technical designs, and help modernize legacy systems.

Key Missions

• Architect production systems at scale ensuring they are modular, composable, and extensible
• Evolve legacy systems by applying strategic techniques to migrate toward modern architectures
• Act as a bridge between engineering and non-technical stakeholders to ensure commercial needs are reflected in technical solutions

Responsibilities

• Facilitate design sessions and provide clear technical documentation
• Manage and evolve cloud infrastructure
• Mentor engineering teams and support best architectural practices
• Scout for emerging technologies and assess where they can improve the product
• Build strong service models and interface designs for long-term scalability

Requirements

• Extensive experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems (strong “lessons learned” mindset)
• Deep mastery of data persistence layers and selecting the right storage technology per use case
• Proven domain expertise in a focus area (e.g., Front-end or Data Architecture) while maintaining broad full-stack understanding
• Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Significant public cloud experience, with AWS preferred
• Ability to propose solutions, integrate feedback constructively, and stay outcome-focused
• Leadership mindset focused on being “of service” to teams
• Advanced system/service modeling skills (service design and interface modeling)
