About the role

Role Overview

Applied Scientist / Research Engineer (Internship) at Frontier Health. You’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with the research team on live, real-world healthcare AI problems, owning a research question end-to-end—from framing through data and into solutions that work.

Duration: Flexible 10–12 weeks (start date flexible)

Location: On-site in London office (Farringdon/Chancery Lane; also described as onsite with the customer as required)

Responsibilities

Design, build, and evaluate machine learning models on real healthcare administrative/pathway data
Generate and curate training data, including evaluations and ensuring model performance beats expectations
Develop tools/frameworks to support data generation, model training, evaluation, and deployment
Collaborate cross-functionally to tackle complex use cases using agents
Work with research and engineering to move work from notebook to live NHS environment

Requirements

Writes clean, readable Python
Can navigate and contribute to a real codebase
