Applied ML Engineer | Remote

Role Overview

Applied ML Engineer (Computer Vision) for a remote W2 contingent engagement with commissioning-based hourly pay and the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities

• Benchmark computer vision model performance on representative image datasets
• Measure accuracy against held-out evaluation sets and assess data quality
• Evaluate feasibility and production readiness of computer vision systems
• Analyze workflows for:
  • identification
  • grading
  • condition scoring
  • defect detection
• Present findings and recommendations in executive-level reports for non-technical stakeholders

Requirements

• Strong experience in computer vision and machine learning engineering, including fine-tuning vision foundation models
• Strong experience with classifying/grading/identifying/assessing physical objects from images
• Strong experience with model evaluation, representative sampling, accuracy benchmarking, and calibration
• Ability to assess system feasibility and communicate technical findings to non-technical audiences

Nice to Have

• Experience with authentication, counterfeit detection, anomaly detection, imaging hardware, or deployment environments

Engagement Details

• W2 contingent role
• Remote
• Commission: $135/hour
• Initial technical assessment engagement: 3–4 weeks with potential extension
