About the role
Role Overview
Join Pulsora as an Applied AI Engineer to design, develop, and deploy LLM-powered applications and agent-based systems in production. You’ll own the full product lifecycle—from concept and iteration to production and ongoing quality/performance improvements.
Key Missions
- Design, develop, and deploy LLM-powered applications and agent-based systems in production
- Own the full product lifecycle (from design to production and iteration)
- Integrate and optimize leading LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, and open-source options
Responsibilities
- Build scalable, maintainable systems
- Continuously improve system quality and performance (e.g., latency and cost)
- Debug and resolve production issues
- Define and implement evaluation strategies for AI outputs (quality, consistency, failure modes)
- Apply AI-driven testing and reliability practices
- Work across backend and frontend as you take products from concept to production
Requirements
- Experience debugging production issues and optimizing latency and cost
- Experience integrating major LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, and/or open-source)
- 1–2 years of experience building AI-powered applications (AI agents and/or AI-assisted coding) and deploying them in production
- Strong understanding of prompt and system behavior, including:
- Prompt design
- Context management (e.g., RAG, memory, tool use)
- Multi-step/agentic workflows
- Practical experience using tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, OpenAI, and Microsoft Copilot
- Including safe integration of AI-generated code into production via validation and CI/CD
- Ownership mindset: strong accountability, high expectations, ability to operate in ambiguity
Nice-to-Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience
- Experience working across the full engineering lifecycle
- Evaluation and testing expertise for AI reliability and failure-mode handling
