Application Developer

Role: Application Developer (Remote Internship)

SeenU is seeking an intern to support the design, development, and maintenance of features in the SeenU mobile application.

Responsibilities

• Implement front-end components for the mobile app
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams
• Work with back-end services and integrate APIs
• Optimize performance and user experience
• Troubleshoot issues and assist with database-related tasks
• Participate in code reviews and document technical work
• Contribute ideas to improve existing functionality
• Support rapid experimentation in a fast-paced startup environment

Requirements

• Advanced, production-level experience in both:
  • Kotlin (Android)
  • Swift (iOS)
• Strong understanding of Android Jetpack Compose and SwiftUI
• Experience building and shipping production apps to:
  • Google Play
  • App Store
• Strong knowledge of Firebase, including:
  • Authentication
  • Firestore
  • Realtime Database
  • Cloud Messaging
  • Storage
  • Cloud Functions
• Experience optimizing app performance, including memory, battery, rendering, and network efficiency
• Debugging complex mobile issues (crashes, ANRs, threading, synchronization, real-time networking)
• Understanding of REST APIs, WebSockets, and real-time architectures
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows
• Excellent communication and ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building social networking or messaging apps
• Location-based services, maps, and geolocation
• Real-time multiplayer or live presence systems
• Scaling to tens of thousands of users
• Startup experience

Compensation

• Unpaid educational internship. Outstanding interns may be considered for future paid opportunities.
