Application Developer

Role Overview

As an Application Developer, you’ll help build and maintain modern web application features that support mission-driven public sector programs focused on program integrity and data-driven decision-making. You’ll work in a cross-functional engineering team across the full software development lifecycle, enhancing investigative workflows and improving usability in complex operational environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain front-end application features using Angular, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and refine solutions aligned to user and business requirements
• Translate functional requirements into technical designs and implementable code (including diagrams/technical artifacts)
• Perform debugging, updates, and performance improvements while ensuring stability and quality via unit testing and validation
• Support documentation (specifications, reports, and technical artifacts) for long-term maintainability
• Participate in Agile processes (sprint planning, iterative delivery)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• 1+ year of software development experience (or similar technical role)
• Hands-on familiarity with Angular and JavaScript, plus HTML and CSS
• Experience with version control (e.g., GitHub)
• Exposure to modern tools/environments such as Node.js, AWS, Jira, and Confluence (or similar)
• Understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL and/or SQL
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; strong willingness to learn

Nice-to-Haves

• Familiarity with Agile or SAFe
• Interest in backend technologies such as Spring Boot or message-driven systems
