About the role

Role Overview

The Appian Architect (Remote) will lead end-to-end Appian BPM implementations and support enterprise workflow automation initiatives. You’ll design scalable solutions on the Appian platform, drive architecture/design best practices, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders throughout the SDLC.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end Appian implementation projects for BPM workflow automation
Design and develop BPM applications using Appian
Architect scalable workflow automation solutions using no-code/low-code approaches
Build and maintain Appian objects, including:
- Interfaces
- Process models
- Records
- Reports
- SAIL forms
- Expression rules, Query rules, and Constant rules
- Data types, Sites, and integrations
Develop and manage integrations using Web APIs, integration services, and web services
Manage deployments using Appian pipelines and deployment best practices
Participate in requirements gathering, analysis, architecture, design, and development
Collaborate with development teams, stakeholders, and business units; lead technical discussions/demos
Support Agile/Scrum delivery throughout the SDLC
Ensure solutions meet scalability, performance, and maintainability requirements

Requirements

10+ years of experience working on Appian projects
Strong expertise in Appian BPM architecture and application development
Hands-on experience with Appian no-code/low-code BPM solutions
Deep knowledge of core Appian features:
- Records, Interfaces, Process Models, SAIL
- Integrations and Web APIs
- Deployment pipelines
- Smart services
- BPM object types including expression rules, query rules, and constants
Experience leading Appian development teams and enterprise implementations
Familiarity with enterprise configuration, deployment, and testing
Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and ability to manage priorities with minimal supervision
Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to deliver technical presentations/demos

Nice to Have

Appian certifications
Prior experience in large enterprise environments
Strong stakeholder management and leadership capabilities
