About the role

Role Overview

Joveo AI is hiring a Remote API Developer to design and build APIs that connect the platform to clients, partners, and internal systems. You’ll create APIs that are fast, reliable, and well-documented for developers worldwide.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain production RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs
Define and enforce API standards, including:
- versioning
- pagination
- error handling
- rate limiting
Implement API authentication and authorization (e.g., OAuth2, JWT, API keys)
Create and maintain OpenAPI/Swagger documentation and developer-facing API references
Monitor production performance, including latency and reliability
Serve as a technical API liaison with frontend, mobile, and partner integration teams

Required Skills & Qualifications

Strong experience designing/building production REST and/or GraphQL APIs
Proficiency in at least one backend language: Python, Node.js, Go, or Java
Deep understanding of API security (authentication, authorization, rate limiting)
Experience with API gateway tools: Kong, AWS API Gateway, or Apigee
Familiarity with OpenAPI specification and API documentation best practices
Strong understanding of HTTP, caching strategies, and performance optimization

Nice-to-Haves

Experience working across multiple integration surfaces (frontend, mobile, partners) via API collaboration
