About the role

Role Overview

Joveo AI is hiring an API Developer (Remote) to design and build the APIs that connect its platform to clients, partners, and internal services. You will deliver APIs that are fast, reliable, secure, and well-documented for developers worldwide.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs
Define and enforce API standards (versioning, pagination, error handling, rate limiting)
Implement authentication and authorization layers (OAuth2, JWT, API keys)
Create and maintain developer documentation using OpenAPI/Swagger
Monitor API performance, latency, and reliability in production
Collaborate with frontend, mobile, and partner integration teams as a technical API liaison

Required Skills & Qualifications

Strong experience building production REST and/or GraphQL APIs
Proficiency in at least one backend language: Python, Node.js, Go, or Java
Deep understanding of API security (authentication, authorization, rate limiting)
Familiarity with API gateway tools: Kong, AWS API Gateway, or Apigee
Knowledge of OpenAPI and API documentation best practices
Strong understanding of HTTP, caching strategies, and performance optimization

Nice-to-Haves

Experience integrating with multiple consumer teams (frontend/mobile/partners) and acting as an API liaison
