Responsibilities
- Develop Angular components and UI features aligned with sprint commitments.
- Implement designs from Figma using the approved Design System (components, tokens, patterns).
- Deliver accessible UI code, ensuring WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508 compliance, including:
- Proper ARIA attributes
- Semantic HTML
- Keyboard navigation
- Focus management
- Color contrast
- Ensure new UI code passes automated accessibility checks (aXe, pa11y) in the CI pipeline with zero critical/major findings.
- Remediate legacy UI accessibility issues and prevent regressions.
- Write frontend tests (e.g., component/service/integration) targeting ≥ 90% branch coverage on new/modified code.
- Perform timely code reviews (within 1 business day) with substantive feedback on quality, accessibility, and Design System adherence.
- Collaborate with UX designers, backend developers, accessibility specialists, and federal product owners in an Agile/SAFe environment.
- Contribute to the Design System via governance (propose patterns/components, ensure WCAG AA alignment, and document in Figma/Confluence).
- Build responsive, cross-browser interfaces across supported browsers/devices.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies in SAFe (planning, standups, reviews, retros, refinement).
- Support production triage as assigned, following CI/CD + code review processes.
- Maintain clean, well-documented TypeScript/Angular code meeting standards and passing SonarQube quality gates.
Requirements
- 3+ years of applicable frontend web development experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT or related field (or 3 additional years experience).
- Proficiency in Angular (12+), TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Hands-on experience building component-based single-page applications.
- Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508, with experience implementing accessible patterns (ARIA, semantic HTML, keyboard navigation, focus management).
- Experience with automated accessibility testing (the posting begins to mention tools like aXe/pa11y).
Nice-to-Haves / Additional Context
- Experience embedded in Agile scrum teams and familiarity with SAFe.
- Familiarity contributing to/using a Design System with governance.
Security / Compliance
- Public Trust eligibility required.
- As a federal consulting role, you may need to handle CUI and follow applicable safeguarding/compliance requirements.
