Role overview

Join Whatnot as a Senior Android Engineer in the Seller Engineering org within the Seller Growth team and Inventory team. You’ll design and build mobile experiences and systems that support seller onboarding and inventory management at scale.

Responsibilities

Develop high-quality Android features using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and backend teams to define goals, scope, and technical trade-offs.
Help evolve shared mobile infrastructure and engineering best practices.
Maintain engineering excellence through code reviews, documentation, and thoughtful technical discussions.

Requirements

5+ years shipping high-quality Android applications.
Android UI expertise for fluid, responsive user experiences.
Strong knowledge of Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
Reactive programming experience with Kotlin Coroutines and Flows.
Experience with MVI or MVVM.
Strong product-quality and performance mindset (polished UX balancing usability and trust).
Ability to thrive cross-functionally and communicate clearly in fast-changing, ambiguous environments.
Comfortable using data and experimentation (e.g., SQL, Snowflake, A/B testing) to guide decisions.
