Android Engineer - Remote

Role Overview

Join ElevenLabs’ expanding mobile team as an Android Engineer (Remote). You’ll build and ship high-impact features for the company’s reader app, integrating AI-driven audio capabilities to improve user experience and expand mobile platform functionality.

Responsibilities

• Develop new mobile audio platform features using data analysis, product ideation, and experimentation
• Plan and implement infrastructure to support building, testing, and deploying mobile app features
• Collaborate with design, product, and research to meet product objectives
• Contribute to the architecture and technical direction of the Android application
• Maintain high standards for app performance, quality, and responsiveness
• Participate in code reviews, establish best practices, and uphold coding standards
• Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies to improve development efficiency
• Identify UX improvement opportunities and implement strategic solutions
• Support and mentor junior team members when needed

Requirements

• Proven experience in native Android development with shipped features
• Strong knowledge of Android SDK, Kotlin, Java, and related tooling
• Experience with mobile app architecture and design patterns
• Strong analytical skills, including designing and running A/B tests
• Familiarity with AI-driven audio functionalities and integration
• Ability to work autonomously and take initiative in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Effective communication across cross-functional teams
• Experience with CI/CD processes
• Passion for audio AI and emerging mobile technologies

Nice to Haves

• Experience integrating AI audio functionality into production mobile apps (implied by familiarity requirement)
• Demonstrated mentorship/leadership within a mobile team
